Nominator's project description
| Joseph Nordgren has pioneered soft X-ray emission spectroscopy with synchrotron radiation. Through the work of Joseph Nordgren this spectroscopy has become an invaluable tool at modern generation synchrotron sources for developing an improved understanding of the electronic structure and electron-phonon dynamics in molecules and solids. Additionally, soft Xray emission spectroscopy also enables novel insights into technological processes such as the charging and discharging of batteries and online monitoring and control of thin film deposition processes. |
